Rolfing® Structural Integration is sought out by people looking to find relief from discomfort and pain, a quicker recovery from injury or surgery, improved athletic performance, or by those looking to deepen a current practice in a discipline such as yoga, martial arts, Pilates or meditation.
Your Rolfer™ helps to realign your body by releasing the fascia (connective tissue) from it's chronic patterns of shortening and fixation in order to allow your structure to find it's natural support and lift. This skillful touch, combined with cues to help you move with length and sense your body's relationship with gravity, can allow very powerful shifts to happen.
How much are you holding on to? We've all read the articles about de-cluttering our spaces to allow new things to come into our lives. This also applies to our body/mind. What stress, physical tensions, unexamined ways of moving/exercising, inhibited breathing patterns or thoughts/emotions are you holding? Bodywork brings awareness to those places of holding and encourages your ability to let go.

Rolfing® Structural Integration is a multi-faceted approach of bodywork, movement and perceptual education that evokes alignment and greater ease of movement within the field of gravity. The series of 10-13 sessions are crafted to systematically open and lengthen your body in a way that creates more support, integration and better function.
This work requires a readiness and commitment to a process. If you're currently training rigorously for a sporting event, have an injury or condition that precludes overall bodywork, or are generally overwhelmed and looking to relax and be nurtured, a Massage Therapy or Zero Balancing® session may be more appropriate at this time. I also offer those sessions. It could be the beginning of a therapeutic relationship that gives you the option to go deeper should Rolfing® S.I. seem appropriate in the future.
