Why I Do This Work You’re probably not here for pampering. You’re here because something hurts, feels off, or just doesn’t feel like you . You’ve tried things. Some helped, some didn’t. I get it—because I’ve been there too, professionally speaking. From Frustration to Freedom I’ve been a massage therapist since 2000. In the beginning, I believed what I was taught: that pain was mechanical, muscles needed fixing, and pressure was the answer. But I kept seeing the same thing—results that didn’t last, pain that didn’t make sense, and people left feeling just as frustrated as before. That pushed me to dig deeper. The Shift: Pain Science In 2008, I stumbled into the world of pain science—and it flipped everything. I learned that pain isn’t just about tissue; it’s about how your nervous system interprets what's happening. That insight changed how I work forever. Now, I don’t focus on fixing. I focus on creating safety—helping your nervous system stop bracing and start shifting. It’s a quieter kind of bodywork, but often much more powerful. Experience That Runs Deep In addition to working with clients, I spent 17 years teaching entry-level massage—every subject, every modality. Around Atlanta, it’s likely your therapist or someone on their team learned from me. That experience taught me how to really listen—to students, to research, and most importantly, to bodies. Where I’m From I’m originally from Lake Jackson, Texas—a small coastal town where I fell in love with the ocean. I miss it often. But here in Atlanta, I’ve found something else: meaningful, grounded work that helps people come back to themselves.
