I became a massage therapist because I know firsthand how chronic pain and stress can negatively impact your life. Like most people, I sought various healthcare professionals and alternative methods to relieve my pain and balance my emotions. Of all the therapies I tried, I found massage therapy and bodywork had the most profound and lasting benefits. By receiving regular massage therapy and bodywork, I was able to alleviate the chronic pain I experienced from a whiplash injury in my early twenties, and I felt more grounded and resilient to daily stressors. I was inspired to help others feel their best through my healing journey and enrolled in the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in December 2005. I graduated with honors in August 2006, passed the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork exam scoring high in all areas in November 2006, and became a Connecticut licensed massage therapist in December 2006.
I love what I do and am passionate about continuing my knowledge of the human body to help my clients achieve optimal well-being. Over the years, I have completed 493 hours of continuing education classes and have earned advanced certifications in Orthopedic Massage and Prenatal Massage. Other modalities I received training in include Upledger CranioSacral Therapy and SomaticEmotional Release, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Massage Cupping, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques, Acupressure, Usui Reiki, Spa Therapies, and more. I am also a certified Hypnotist and earned my B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Connecticut.
Conditions that I frequently treat in my massage therapy practice include, but are not limited to, pain caused by arthritis, bursitis, sciatica, piriformis syndrome, low back pain, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, golfers elbow, frozen shoulder, neck pain, TMJ, and migraines. I am sensitive to the needs of those suffering from anxiety, depression, and PTSD and strive to create a relaxing and safe environment.
