A native of Saint Paul, Minnesota, Bridget was attracted to foreign language learning as a way to expand her cultural horizons. While completing her Bachelor of Arts, she studied Spanish, Math, and numerous electives in Sports Science, earning honors as a collegiate athlete in soccer and track & field. During her final undergraduate years, she studied abroad in Segovia, Spain, where she met her husband, Elías, now a local mountain guide. Before becoming a licensed massage therapist, Bridget earned a Master's degree in the field of Education and spent over 15 years teaching, coordinating and leading international travel programs, translating, coaching, and working in the outdoor recreation and hospitality industries. She has engaged in extensive international travel in pursuit of mountaineering objectives, social service opportunities, and immersion experiences. After struggling to find adequate healthcare as a beat-up female athlete living in a rural mountain town, Bridget became interested in bodywork out of the necessity to address her own physical needs in sustainable, non-invasive, non-toxic ways. In addition to the Western-Eastern bicultural massage program she attended in Seattle, WA, she is also trained in the practice of YogAlign, Reiki, Ashiatsu barefoot massage, Visceral Manipulation, Neural Manipulation, and Craniosacral techniques. All work that Bridget performs is very fluid and intended to reduce any anxiety to the greatest degree possible. Your unique session may blend any number of healing modalities, including Swedish style massage, myofascial release, Thai massage, deep tissue work, reflexology... But no need to anguish over choosing the right technique; Bridget is eager to educate her clients about their bodies and treatment options, customizing each session to achieve optimal results. Bridget owns a private practice called ViaSana Massage & Bodywork Studio, located at 300 8th Avenue in Ouray, Colorado. Online booking is the preferred method for checking availability and reserving your session. You can also call Bridget's reservation request line at (970) 325-3255 or email bridget.bodywork@gmail.com. ¿Es usted hispanohablante? No se preocupe. ¡Ella es bilingüe!
