I began my extensive bodywork journey in 2015 with my education from the Healing Arts Institute in Fort Collins, Colorado. The first five years of my practice I specialized mainly in neuromuscular therapy and deep tissue massage. Since completing my massage cupping certification in March 2021, I've gravitated towards a women-centered practice as I've recognized a growing need to support the women of my community within a safe space where they can feel comfortable and nurtured.
Are you exhausted from the daily grind and looking to unwind and melt away some stress? Are you a weekend warrior looking to up your game or recover from an injury? Or are you in the prenatal or postnatal world of motherhood looking to address pain and fatigue? I work to develop a relationship with my clients and over time obtain an understanding of your body, your injuries, and your tension areas, so that I can provide you with bodywork tailored to your individual needs.
Although my practice is primarily female focused I believe that all people deserve massage. While I limit my clientele to women only, it is important that I am clear that ALL women are welcome. I am 100% supportive of the LGBTQ community and consider the term "woman" to refer to anyone who identifies as female regardless of biology. I am happy to work with women in any stage of transition, and encourage you to call with any questions regarding massage treatments. I also love working on pregnant women and will make sure you feel incredibly comfortable, fully relaxed, and 100% pampered! With so many different things that women juggle on a daily basis, it’s vital to take time and treat the body to a relaxing massage.
In March of 2021, I finished my certification for massage cupping which included instruction on breast cupping. Breast cupping is beneficial for woman to help reduce lymph congestion and promote healthy breast tissue, reduce hormonal breast pain, decrease breast sensitivity, and integrate support of post surgical changes and a new body image. If you are someone who has experienced cancer, mastectomies, removal of lymph nodes, radiation and chemo, or augmentation, breast cupping can help smooth areas of scarring, relax tight fascia, improve range of motion, and relieve pain and tightness. Please ask me any questions you have about breast cupping!
I also work with the philosophy that massage should never hurt. It is true that soreness or tenderness can be normal, but pain is not. My view of pain is very simple: Pain is your body's way of telling you that something is wrong. If you feel pain, it means that something is wrong. That being said, pain can be a good thing, in that it alerts us to a problem, but it should not be the goal. You may have been told that the more something hurts, the better it is working. This is absolutely not true. You should always leave a massage feeling better than when you came in and I'll always encourage you to stay in communication with me about my level of pressure that I'm using because what you can (or want) to tolerate may change as I move to different areas of your body. I use many deep tissue techniques in a manner that is pain free, rather than just applying more pressure to force my way into your tissue. I believe in treating every body with respect and kindness, and the results tend to speak for themselves.
