At the age of eight, I was diagnosed with a moderate scoliosis (s-curve) in my spine. Althought it did not cause discomfort or affect my overall level of function, it was bound to become an accelerating issue as I matured. My family was referred to a Rolfer, who in relatively short period of time, made a dramatic impact in the severity of my curvature. This was my first introduction to Rolfing!
In my practice, I work with of chronic pain issues including back and neck pain, scoliosis, hip and knee replacements, multiple level spinal fusions, SI fusions, as well as major ankle and knee injuries post repair and PT. Most of these individuals have had some type of an event or injury that was repaired mechanically, but their body had yet to return to an ideal level of neuromuscular synergy. This is where I come in. I enjoy working with issues that are difficult to figure out and where I can aide the client in acheiving an optimal level of wholistic function.
My unique background in Sport and Exercise Science, personal training and Low Level Laser Therapy (cold laser) allows me to be innovative and thoughtful in my appoach to the disfunction and integrate muscle activation and strengthening into a session where it is necessary.
