If you are looking for relief from insomnia, fatigue, anxiety, PMS, headaches, migraines, digestive disturbances, and other women's health concerns beyond what basic massage can provide, I may be able to help! I specialize in rebalancing "patterns of disharmony" in the body related to these common complaints using AcuReiki (a combination of Acupressure and Reiki). Acupressure unblocks and clears t he meridian pathways, and Reiki flows easily through both the subtle pathways and the meridians. Acupressure is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine ("TCM") and works with the flow of chi through the body, interfacing between the subtle and the physical, affecting the organ systems and tissues of the body, as well as the emotional states associated with them. (It is the same system as acupuncture, but without the needles.) I use gentle to firm finger pressure on specific points, and am able to sense what the chi is doing. Reiki ("Ray-Kee") means "Spiritual Energy" and it is a supply of fresh vital life force which supports the body's healing. It knows where to go because of its life-source nature and because the body knows where it's needed and pulls it there through me, the Reiki practitioner. In an AcuReiki session, Acupressure is used to open the points, and Reiki flows into you and nourishes the channels. Acupressure and Reiki can also be standalone sessions. It's all about how best to work with the energy for what you need at that time. In 2002, I added Warm Stone Massage to my practice. There is nothing quite as comforting, relaxing and grounding in the colder winter months! Background I have worked with alternative healing systems for
over 30 years, being certified as a massage therapist by the McKinnon Institute
in Oakland, CA in 1980. Over the next 20+ years, I did massage therapy full time, and in 1993, began to integrate Reiki with massage. In 1998, I started using Acupressure as a more holistic approach to effect a deeper release of stubborn knots, relieve migraines, and to support optimal wellness.
I work out of a dedicated office in my home, located in quiet
Davis neighborhood. (For this reason, currently I am only accepting women as new clients, with men by referral.) The session is tailored to your individual needs (this is the nature of Acupressure and Reiki), so that when you
leave the session, you are grounded, clear, calm, and relaxed, with a renewed
sense of clarity and purpose. I have done thousands of hours of bodywork
over the course of my career, and bring this knowledge and experience to each
session. For more details about my training, please click on "Background" in the side navigation bar or visit my website www.AcuReikiHealingArts.com.
Other Interests I've been studying taijichuan since 2012, and volunteer at Agee Memorial Wildlife Fund's Fat Kitty City sanctuary. I also volunteer at Red Rover, and serve as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Pamela Trokanski Dance Theatre in Davis, CA.
Go on, be a good friend and share MassageBook with them. They'll love you for it.
