Bill brings to his work extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and movement, the intuitive insight of a theatrical actor and director for more than 20 years, and more than thirteen years of training and experience in three powerful healing modalities: Esalen® Massage, Deep Structural Massage, and Visionary CranioSacral Work®. His skillful touch is guided by intuitive insight to ease the aches and pains that brought you to him, and sometimes to help you let go of deeper and older wounds embedded in the body, mind or heart. A new service category is being introduced in Medical Massage for Cervical Spine Pain and Dysfunction; this service requires a written referral from the client's physician or chiropractor.
Like many of Bill's first-time clients, you might be drawn to Bill for help with an injury or accident resulting in muscle spasms, whiplash, tightness, aches or soreness. Or you may have "overdone it" in your garden, or be feeling the pain of a workout at the gym, or your arms and legs may be exhausted from a long run or bike ride. Or you may be a client with "mom body" aches, soreness, swelling, circulatory issues. Or you got work done at the dentist and your face and jaw are very sore -- or perhaps you have TMJ dysfunction pain. Or you carry chronic pain in the body from surgical scarring or from emotional trauma or abuse, even PTSD. Or could you use some help relaxing so you can sleep better at night? Or perhaps you just want to treat yourself to a relaxing massage for the sheer pleasure of it. Bill has worked with many clients with each of the conditions mentioned. What he has learned from his clients has deepened what he has learned in classes, workshops and personal study.
For eight years Bill shared office space at Yoga Mandala on Telegraph Avenue (now owned by Yoga Tree); since 2011 he has had his own office in the Berkeley Arts District at 1913 Addison Street. His office is only a few blocks from the BART station and bus lines, a block from Berkeley's professional theaters, close to restaurants, coffee shops, the University, Berkeley City College, the Berkeley Y, and downtown shopping. There are three nearby parking garages as well as metered street parking. In the same building are two other massage therapists, an acupuncturist, and a chiropractor. Bill's office is on the third floor (Suite 302), so you will want to know that there is an elevator, and it maybe important to you that restrooms on all floors are accessible.
One client has been coming to see Bill regularly since 2007. His oldest client so far was 96. His youngest was less than a year. A client once said to Bill: "We don't come to you because you do this clinical modality or that one -- we come because of YOU." A session with Bill is often the beginning of a long personal association. His clients matter to him. At the end of a session, many people have blurted out: "I feel more like mySELF again!" That self is the one they want to feel more of.
Perhaps it's time you make an appointment with Bill.
