I specialize in Myofascial Therapy, which draws from the theories and practices of Rolfing and Structural Integration. This has allowed me to increase my effectiveness in decreasing pain and discomfort due to imbalanced postural habits. Session lengths are 90 or 120 minutes and include a postural assessment, hands on work and suggestions for self care. At the end of the session, clients often report decreased pain levels, a feeling of lightness, and an increase in ease of movement. Each session is tailored to the client's wants and needs; I employ a combination of relaxing strokes to calm the nervous system and deep specific strokes to target restrictions and tender points. Treatments may include aromatherapy or applications of heat and cold to soften tissues or reduce inflammation. Clients are encouraged to become an active participant in their own pain relief both during and after the session. I offer resources for stretching and strengthening routines to enhance the work we do together.
