Drew was first inspired to learn Massage Therapy when he was backpacking in Jamaica. Upon meeting and working for a holistic healer on an off grid resort during the pandemic he then decided and planned to study Massage Therapy once he returned to the U.S. Once back in the U.S. Drew decided to attend National Holistic Institute. During his studies at National Holistic Institute, he then focused and picked up his specific interests and styles within massage which are mainly influenced from Swedish, Shiatsu, Myofascial Therapy, and Acupressure. Shortly after finishing his education at NHI he worked at a local resort/winery where he specialized in offering full-body luxury massages until he relocated to Alaska where he then and has continued to work at a wellness clinic. Unlike the resort, the majority of his clientele now receive what he calls "prescribed massage" where he focuses his attention on problem areas as well as delivering "results-based" massage. Through experiencing both ends of the massage industries Drew has recently decided to uptake his own mobile massage business where he can offer both a therapeutic results-based massage and a spa-like massage experience depending on the need of the client.
Why get a Massage?
In addition to the research done within massage and from personal experience from years of practicing and receiving massage I can say without a doubt that regular massage can do wonders for individuals. I always tell my clients to treat their bodies with massage therapy regularly as you would for making regular appointments to go to the dentist. The amount of appointments needed will differ from person to person, but at the very LEAST I'd recommend to a healthy person to receive a massage twice a year. And for the most tight/restricted individuals who may have ongoing physical pain and other issues as often as twice a month. The type of benefits gained from receiving massage can vary depending on the style you receive, but just to name a few please see below:
-Natural Physical Maintenance
-Natural Pain Reduction
-Muscle Relaxation
-Improved Blood Circulation
-Enhanced Flexibility
-Better Sleep
-Postural Assistance
-Immune System Support
-Emotional Well-being
Note: It is ALWAYS important to note that these benefits come naturally from receiving massage and helps individuals' achieve these results WITHOUT having to rely on ingesting prescriptions drugs or other unnatural methods.
Why Go to Drew?
What makes me specifically unique compared to the "regular" Massage Therapist is that I have practiced both clinical massage and spa massage. I like to compare clinical massage as the science-based
method and spa massage as the arts-based method to massage therapy. Typically, therapists specialize in just one practice meaning depending on your use of massage it would require you to go to two different types of businesses...
As an example, a husband and wife may use
massage for completely different reasons depending on their need. The husband may use regular "clinical massage" to help alleviate chronic muscle pain and tightness while the wife may use "spa massage" as a time to relax and relieve stress.
Fortunately, I have practiced both styles so whether you are getting a massage because you are in desperate need of pain relief, just to experience a luxury spa massage or simply giving yourself a treat for the difficult work week I am your guy!
Please note that I require 24 hour notice of bookings as well as cancellations. The booking software will not allow you to book a massage the night before as I require more time in advance for massage appointments.
Thanks,
Drew
