The Body Follows the Mind.
My name is Michelle Grimes. I am happy that you are here! I graduated from Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy in 2004. During my 20 years of practicing Massage Therapy, I have had great opportunities to work in Medical, Chiropractic, and Spa Settings. My experience has led me to fulfilling my dream of opening my own Massage Studio. I have worked with many conditions, such as auto-immune disorders, fibromyalgia, migraines, TMJ, spinal issues, injuries, chronic pain, anxiety, and many more. One thing I would like to talk about is stress and how it affects our bodies. I hear so many times that stress caused by work and life, is a major contributing factor of the muscle tension. When stress becomes long-term or chronic, it can have serious effects on our bodies. When the body is stressed, muscles tense up. Muscle tension is almost a reflex reaction to stress-the body's way of guarding against injury and pain. Getting consistent and regular Massage helps to retrain our muscle memory and brain to relax and keep our pain at bay.
