The power of touch plays an important role in our lives. My main goal is to help the community with a touch of wellness.
My name is Valerie Morales and I was raised in the San Luis Valley. My mother, a teacher from Antonito and my father, an artist from Center CO. Their free spirited attitude and resilience gave me the courage to pursue my dreams of becoming a massage therapist.
The vision that guided me to follow that dream started when I was eleven years old.
My siblings and I had stayed up later than we should've been to watch a movie and eat ice cream while our parents were asleep. I woke up the next day on the couch with a wicked kink in my neck. The tension in my neck was so severe my head leaned over to one shoulder with little to no range of motion. My mother took me to her sister, my aunt Cindy. Cindy is an acupuncturist and a spiritual healer. All it took was an intentional touch by my aunt and I gained back my range of motion and all the pain subsided. She made me feel better than I had ever felt, and that was the moment I knew the power of touch would play an important role in my life.
