Welcome to Restore 2 Function Therapies! My name is Gil and I am your Soft Tissue Specialist.
My goal is to work with you after acute injury, to help reduce or eliminate chronic pain due to past injuries, and to restore and maintain proper function in your neuromuscoskeletal system. Sometimes, our activities of daily living, like poor posture and repetitive, overuse movements can create dysfunction within the connective tissue of the human movement system. These dysfunctions in time will lead to an injury and repair response by the body called the “cumulative injury cycle”.
My methodology to soft tissue therapy addresses the cumulative injury cycle using an integrated approach in which various techniques and tools may be used, as appropriate, for each individual situation. Though you may feel pain, or lack of mobility, in one region, the root cause is often found to be elsewhere in the kinetic chain. Addressing pain and mobility issues in this way, then reinforcing the neuromuscular connection between brain and muscle will often lead to long-term results. It is my belief that it is important for my clients to understand what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, and what their role is to support recovery and a return to as full a function as possible.
