My path into massage therapy began with a curiosity and desire to alleviate my own physical discomfort—particularly in the Neck, Shoulder, Lower Back, and Hip regions. In massage school, I learned how occupational factors, recreational activities, and daily habits contributed to my chronic muscle tension. Through education and training, I acquired knowledge and skills to effectively address these issues and a myriad of other injuries and gained insights into how to prevent them. In particular, I understand the unique challenges individuals face concerning Neck, Shoulder, Lower Back, and Hip discomfort, making therapeutic work in these regions a specialty of mine.
While able to perform Western modalities like Swedish and Deep Tissue as standalone sessions, I've learned from years of practice that this approach can be limiting, and can lead to unmet treatment goals. In some cases, it can even be counterproductive. For example, Deep Tissue or Trigger Point Therapy techniques that are delivered for an extended period to muscles not conditioned for such work may cause harm. Unmet treatment goals can also result from factors like poor communication. That's why my massages are fully customizable. Through a detailed intake, we'll devise a tailored treatment plan to address your individual therapeutic concerns and needs, whether for relief or relaxation. Depending on what symptoms you present, this might involve a full-body massage or targeted work on specific areas only. No matter the case, we will make these decisions together.
