It can affect every body system and virtually every function:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-36282\" src=\"https:\/\/www.massagebook.com\/massage-therapy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/stress.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SO WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT STRESS?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First, we have to identify our triggers for stress.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Second, we have to become aware of its symptoms and optimize our bodies to deal with it as it arises. If we\u2019re only taking stock of our stress levels when they\u2019re very high, we\u2019re not being proactive about our mental and physical health.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Third, we have to<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> implement change.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s an example of being proactive about your stress triggers. If finances are a tremendous source of stress for you, seek ways to educate yourself, set up goals and streamline your process for dealing with the finances. This could mean investing in a personal budgeting tool or a CPA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Physically, stress manifests itself in very similar ways for most of us. You might see that your skin is producing excess oil and causing acne or other issues. You might notice that your breath becomes shorter and your heartbeat more erratic. Are your shoulders going up toward your ears? Are your hips tightening and creating lower back pain?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These are all signs that we need to start a more mindful relaxation practice.
