Sell gift certificates anytime, anywhere with MassageBook Manager

Oh, what fun it is to sell gift certificates on the go! No matter where your practice takes you this holiday season, you can keep your clients happy and your cash register busy now that you can sell gift certificates in our mobile app, MassageBook Manager.

The process is quick, convenient, and doesn’t require any nitty-gritty details. You’ll leave that part for the purchaser later on. Once you’ve made the sale, they’ll receive an email to personalize the gift on their own time.

To sell gift certificates in MassageBook Manager:

  1. Open the main navigation menu
  2. Go to your Cash Register
  3. Find and select a client
  4. Select Add Gift Card
  5. Choose Create Gift Certificate
  6. Pick a gift certificate from your menu
  7. Select a payment method to complete the sale

The rest is up to your client. Just tell them to open the email from your business and they’ll be able to:

  • Select a gift certificate design
  • Enter the recipient’s name
  • Choose a delivery method (email or print)
  • Add a personalized message

Boom! More money for you, thoughtful gifts for them, less hassle for all.

Scan gift certificate QR codes for typo-free checkouts

Have you ever mistyped a client’s gift code at checkout? Ugh—the dreaded error message! How could the code not exist? It’s right in front of you. No surprise, though. A string of 13 random characters leaves plenty of room for boo-boos. Time to start all over…

Not anymore!

Gift certificates (sold after November 16th) now include a QR code you can scan in MassageBook Manager for lightning-fast, typo-free checkouts. Hallelujah! So, when January rolls around… and your hands are covered in oil from back-to-back clients… and each one is whipping out a gift certificate after their session… you can exhale in relief knowing that your slippery fingers aren’t in charge of deciphering hieroglyphics disguised as a gift code. All you have to do is tap, scan, and go about your day.

To scan gift certificate QR codes in MassageBook Manager:

  1. Check out an appointment
  2. Select Gift Certificate as the payment method
  3. Tap the scan icon to open the gift card scanner
  4. Point your camera at the QR code

And presto! The precise code will appear on your screen like magic.

⚠️ Here are some just-so-you-knows before you get started:

  • You must connect a Stripe account to get paid. It’s how we transfer payments from MassageBook Gift Cards to your bank. You can keep Square as your primary card processor, but it doesn’t hurt to have Stripe as a backup, especially now that you can use it to accept Tap to Pay with only your phone.

  • You’ll get 83% of the total amount redeemed if a new client uses a MassageBook Gift Card at your business. The 17% difference covers MassageBook’s marketing and card processing fees—which go toward improving the search directory and advertising it to more consumers. On the other hand, you’ll get the total amount in full if an existing client receives and uses a MassageBook Gift Card at your business. No harm, no foul.
