Streamline Your Massage Social Content with This Quick Tip

Social marketing is necessary for growing your business, but it can be incredibly time-consuming. When faced with creating content, many massage therapists think, How in the world am I going to make time for this?
Here’s a secret that most people won’t tell you about effective social marketing for your massage business: You can convert a single idea or piece of content into ten pieces of content.
The technique
Let’s examine this strategy more closely with an example. Say you have an idea for a post: a “Massage Modalities” video in which you describe the different types of massage techniques and why you use them on your clients. This is great! It’s educational, demonstrates your knowledge, and will entice people to book a massage appointment.
Instead of creating a single video on massage modalities, you can make five in the same amount of time. Here’s how:
- Block off 30 minutes and set up your camera (or have a trusty team member help).
- Go over one technique, then stop the video.
- Start filming again, and begin the following video with something like, “Last time, I talked about the technique of deep tissue massage. Now, I’ll go over hot stone massage.”
- Then, you’ll stop the video again. You can repeat this process three more times for five videos in total.
With robust massage therapy software that includes social sharing features, you can schedule these posts for every Monday for the next five weeks on TikTok. You can call it the “Modality Monday” series so your clients know they can expect more videos in future weeks.
But you don’t have to stop there! From your Modality Monday series, create five graphics based on the information you’ve already conveyed in your videos. You can use Canva to create one template for these graphics to save time, highlighting the main takeaway for each modality from each video.
Since your clients have varying preferences for the media they consume, you can appeal to clients who prefer a simple visual rather than watching a video. Plus, you can post your graphics on Instagram, broadening your audience with multiple social media platforms. If you do, pay attention to the Instagram Grid when you schedule your posts—you don’t want it to look too homogenous, so intersperse your massage modality graphics with other images and videos!
With this technique, you’ll create ten social media posts from a single idea and fill up your month’s content calendar in a single afternoon.

The goal of all social media algorithms is to deliver interesting, valuable, entertaining, and relevant content to their users’ feeds. Although algorithms differ between platforms, all agree that consistent and frequent posting is an important factor for increasing visibility.
By posting regularly, you’ll keep your business top-of-mind for its audience and garner more interaction. This will lead the algorithm to understand that your content is valuable and push it to even more users.
