Yes, there will be pain - but nothing you can't manage

I'm Jackie and I have been working in bodywork for 17 years. I attended classes through my local community college when I was 16, and earned my professional degree from Denver School of Massage Therapy in 2005. I got into massage therapy because I was always the person everyone came to to rub their shoulders. A family member suggested I get actual training so that I could make money from it, which started this long and beautiful process of healing that I now provide.

I am trained in 21 different types of massage therapy, but gravitate towards the deeper, more corrective modalities as I have seen the most success with clients while using them. I now work with chiropractors and accept referrals from physical therapists, surgeons, and other mainstream medical professionals. I treat a host of issues, but focus on structural and chronic holding patterns with my clients. I have worked with a number of clients who have Piriformis Syndrome and Rotator Cuff problems. I've worked with runners, decathletes, office workers, landscapers, military, firemen, weight lifters, body builders, pastors, cancer survivors, trauma survivors, and sexual assault survivors.

I also specialize in working with sexual assault survivors and their loved ones in couples sessions. These sessions include education, practice, and counseling services to help regain a sense of healthy and healing touch in their lives.

When I'm not doing massage, I enjoy learning. I have earned two Master's level degrees (Psychology and Social Work). I am working on starting a nonprofit organization to combine the three loves of my life into one cohesive treatment for all forms of trauma. In less serious pursuits, I enjoy fantasy and sci-fi fiction books, movies, and playing D&D with a small group of friends.

Creator

I created a program in which a sexual assault survivor and their loved one can learn massage techniques to help deal with some of the interpersonal issues stemming and exacerbated by sexual assault. Touch deprivation is a real and physically, emotionally, and mentally traumatic outcome of sexual assault.
