I began my massage journey in 2006 at the recommendation of my mother who believed I was "gifted with strong hands". After graduating from Lakeside School of Massage Therapy (2007), I knew I was embarking on the career of a lifetime by helping others. I gradually gained confidence in my ability to provide quality massages by working at various clinics throughout the metro Milwaukee area and taking continuing education courses.
The next step in my journey led to renting an office space and opening Anointed Hands in July 2009. Since then, I have continued to work diligently to retain clients and improve my skills. I honestly believe my journey is "in divine order" and will continue to flourish as I learn more effective techniques to serve my clients.
I provide both therapeutic and relaxation massage. In 2016, I began studying Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques (MAT) by Dr. Erik Dalton in hopes of becoming one of the first therapist in Wisconsin to be fully certified in this method of bodywork. Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy is a combination of methodical deep-tissue massage and joint flexibility that together improve muscular balance and alignment for optimal body performance. MAT enables me to better assist clients with pain prevention.
In addition to providing massage, I now also offer private Pilates sessions. In March 2018, I completed the extensive 950 hour Advanced Teacher Training Program through The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado, under the mentorship of Master Teacher, Debby Orlando. I then electively chose to take the Pilates Method Alliance exam to become a Certified Pilates Teacher (April 2018). Becoming a Pilates teacher allows me help clients recover from pain, build strength, flexibility and body awareness.
The combination of therapeutic massage with Pilates retrains the body and mind's perception of pain. You will look, feel and function better with consistent application.
