My name is Nicholas McMarrell and I started massage in 2016. Massage has been a great opportunity for me to practice my passion for understanding the body. Being in sports, martial arts, and being in the military has definitely helped me understand what fatigue, discomfort, pain, and stress is more than most massage therapist have ever experienced. So when you come to me, know that you’re in excellent hands.

This a fun bonus course we did when we were in school. I considered it to be the lazy man’s yoga. Trying to stretch on your own is one thing but, when you have a helper, it’s just that much more effective.
I found a trigger point book when I was in school and tried to see what I could do with that knowledge. Turned out that it really upped my game in how to release the areas I wanted to work in. I still haven’t really been trained by an instructor yet but I’ve been studying trigger point therapy since I’ve been out of school.
This is something we dabbled into when I was in school. We didn’t need a certification but it was just part of the course.
Throughout the years I’ve been at Massage Envy, I really fell into a different roll than my fellow co-workers. Massage Envy is technically a Spa but I could never seem to bring myself to do an actual spa massage. I get into my work and have caught myself starting to dose off if I’m giving a relaxing spa massage. So I shifted gears and gave that place something they haven’t had before and focused my attention to Rehabilitating massage. Since then, I’ve worked on just about everyone under the sun. I’ve had elderly to young, all kinds of body types, worked with whiplash, post surgery, neuropathy, Military, Wildlife and Urban Fire fighters, competitive runners, Bodybuilders, Mechanics, Law Enforcement, Painters, Roofers, Massage therapists, Crossfitters, Swimmers, Football players, Rugby players, Figure Skaters, Dancers, Construction workers, Truck drivers and the Office workers. I’ve worked my techniques to fashion for whatever comes my way. I also like to educate the peoples that come to visit so they can better themselves of what might be really causing them discomfort or pain. I look forward to more challenges and along my way and more training to give a better experience to those who need the work they may never get.
