My interest in human anatomy and physiology began while studying biology in High School. I was fascinated by the structures of the body, why they developed the way they did, and how they all seemed to be perfectly designed to help us survive in the world. Studying Massage Therapy at the Fingerlakes School of Massage in Ithaca allowed me to learn about the human anatomy as well as learn the art of human touch through the study of multiple modalities. I quickly realized that our environment, work and everyday life has become a burden on our bodies. Our bodies were never designed to sit at a desk for eight hours a day, and neither were our minds for that matter.
The focus of my work is to assist my clients by treating their discomfort with techniques and styles I've learned from working with Rolfers, Myofascial body workers, and other incredible therapists. Along with treating the client directly, I also explore the underlying causes of their discomfort to help them gain a better understanding of why they feel the way they do.
