Karen Thomas is the founder/owner of the well renowned Spalypso of Sarasota FL. and has acquired advanced training and knowledge learned at the Swedish Institute College and her years of experience.

Karen is a Licensed, Nationally Certified Massage Therapist. She is a graduate with a degree in Occupational Studies, Massage Therapy from The Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York City. 

Karen is passionate about her profession and is committed to helping others achieve a healthier and happier life experience. Her previous experience as a licensed professional caregiver for 15 plus years exemplifies her dedication.

In addition to her private clientele, she has also provided professional bodywork services for Lutheran Augusta Senior Center in NYC, Westchester Iron Man Half Triathlon in Westchester NY, Ronald McDonald House in New York City, and ING New York City Marathon.

The name "Spalypso" is a unique joining of the words Spa and Calypso in a nod to the islands, Trinidad and Tobago, from where Karen hails. They are the birthplace of the ever popular Calypso music.
