In addition to 700 hours of basic coursework and practice hours, I have taken a 300 hour course on Holistic Medical Massage: Working with Pain, as well as weekend classes in Integrative Zen Shiatsu, Pregnancy massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, and Structural Integration/Deep Tissue.
My favorite way to work is to start with a basis in basic therapeutic Swedish massage, and add in techniques from other modalities as they suit the individual client's preferences and needs. Thus far in my three years of being in practice, I have been blessed to be able to assist clients in alleviating symptoms of chronic muscle tension due to car accidents, TMJ disorder, stress, and injuries.
My private practice is called Sophrosune Massage Therapy, and my office is in the St. Francis Professional Center in Santa Fe. I can also be found at the ShaNah Spa at Bishop's Lodge, and Connerly Chiropractic Center, depending on the day of the week. In addition to my passion for massage therapy, I enjoy swing dancing, skiing, and Hayao Miyazaki films. Thank you for reading!
