600 Hour Massage Therapist Program
In April of 2015 I joined the Massage Team at UCSF in the Fitness and Recreation department. During that time we preformed 75 minute sessions of Therapeutic Massage. Our client base ranged from gym members, general public, and staff at UCSF (nurses, doctors, and other employees.) Sadly in November of 2016, funds had to be redirected to other programs and the massage program was shut down.
In July of 2015 Dr. Kevin Wong, an amazing doctor of Chiropractic, allowed myself to rent space in his office. During that time sessions ranged from a few minutes with chair massage, 20 minute targeted area massage, or 30 minutes to 2 hour plus sessions. Clients ranged from pediatric (2-17,) healthy, medically fragile, young or old, and everything in between. In November of 2017 Dr. Wong and I decided to discontinue our rental agreement, leaving only outcall/home sessions.
In December of 2017 I decided to move to Koh Phangan, Thailand for 6 months. During that time I offered a one day, Connected Touch Workshop. Focusing on how to be present for the person you are massaging, simple theory, with hands on exercises to be comfortable to provide a healthy, non sexual connected touch. Likewise I offered a three day Full Bodywork Intensive Workshop. In where the first day comprised of theory, pressure gauging, body mechanics, positioning and draping. The second and third days were a breakdown of how to treat the upper and lower body. Learning invasive and non invasive techniques to address the usual troubled spots, simple opening/expanding techniques, and more. As of June 2018 I returned to the States.
