Hi There! I’m Katarina, founder of Westwood Pain Relief, and I’m on a passionate mission to help you reclaim your joy and live pain-free!
After overcoming my own battle with chronic neck pain, I’ve dedicated over a decade as an East Asian medicine expert to blend ancient wisdom with modern therapies to empower you on your journey to wellness.
My personal experience with pain ignited a passion in me to understand the intricate connections between the body and mind. I understand firsthand the frustration and limitations that come with persistent discomfort. It can feel isolating, and often, conventional treatments don’t provide the relief we seek.
Throughout my journey, I’ve immersed myself in the study of East Asian medicine, acupuncture, herbal remedies, and holistic health practices. This extensive knowledge has allowed me to create a unique approach that combines age-old techniques with contemporary therapies tailored for today’s lifestyle. My mission is simple: to empower you with the tools and understanding needed to reclaim your health and well-being.

At UCSD's RIMAC Athletic Arena athletes receive sports acupuncture treatments in addition to care from athletic trainers and physical therapists. Pacific College interns use acupuncture to help rehabilitate post-operative injuries, sports injuries and athletic performance by increasing range of motion, muscle strength and tissue healing potential. The most common injuries I treat athletes for are muscle contusions and tendinitis, as well as over-use injuries involving the lower back, shoulder, knee and ankle, all examples of common sports injury areas. These injuries typically require two sports acupuncture treatments a week, with a varied recovery time depending on the injury .
Throughout the last 20 years, Pacific College has strived to not only advance in the field of Oriental medicine, but also create and maintain community involvement. Perhaps the most rewarding of these activities has been the creation of Pacific's off-site clinics. The UCSD Integrative Health Free Clinic Project not only provided me the opportunity to receive hands on experience in a wide variety of multi-disciplinary environments, but have also enabled patients access to our medicine, many for the first time.
