My name is Ray Gallegos. I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Oklahoma since 2017, when the licensing law went into effect, and I have been practicing since 2016. I focus on Medical and Therapeutic Massage, but I enjoy working with a variety of client needs. My education sometimes has small gaps where clients with slightly rarer issues fall. I make a point to learn what I need to do and I  will work with my clients to make sure we're doing all we can to attain their best version of themselves. The fallacy in our understanding of the hierarchy of knowledge is that an expert will always know; in reality, an expert will always know how to find out. I am currently enrolled at the University of Oklahoma and majoring in Human Health and Biological Anthropology.

My hobbies include working in my yard, knitting and crafting, baking, rewatching The Office, annoying my husband, gardening, and, although my cat actively kills them, I enjoy attempting to keep my indoor plants alive.

Hope to see you soon!
Ray

Elements Therapeutic Massage

Completed internship in 2016 and took a permanent position with the company in 2017. I was the only Medical Massage Therapist on staff, and as such, I had many clients coming to me for their medical needs for massage. It was a great resource to use and develop my techniques and expand into others.

All About You Spa

2018 to 2019 When I left Elements, I wanted to develop my education in spa therapies. I knew that I didn't want to do spa massage, but I wanted to expand my knowledge for two reasons: to be sure that I didn't want to take my career in that direction; and to educate myself on techniques that I could integrate into my therapeutic/medical massage education and elevate my practice.

Self Employed Work

Before I created Touch of Eir, I did some work on my own, doing house-calls and events. I was terrified of relying on myself and didn't have any real-world experience operating a business. I found it helpful in many ways, but the most important lesson it left me with was that doing mostly house-call massages was not a sustainable business plan. I needed to have my supplies and my table in one place where I could control exactly when I was working, who I was working with, and have access to my things without having to make space in someone's home. Lugging around a table, sheets, and a bag of tools to different locations was not fun, but my clients were then, and still are, wonderful and understanding people that I appreciate having in my life.

NeuroRenovations Chiropractic- Lead LMT

From 2020 to 2022, I worked with Dr. Melanie Evans, Dr. Taylor Baird, and Dr. Ben Andrews under Dr. Greg Mendiaz. Working with some of these highly qualified chiropractors strengthened my resolve to continue my education in my field and built my confidence in my abilities. I know that I can still call on a few of them for advice in my practice and when I, as we all occasionally do, go through periods of impostor syndrome. They are valuable resources and friends that I have firsthand knowledge of their talents, and they of mine. I created the Massage Therapy Department for NeuroRenovasions and learned how to budget and operate a massage business. Not long after I left, I created Touch of Eir Therapeutic and Medical Massage with the confidence and know-how afforded to me by NeuroRenovations, but mostly thanks to my friend, Dr. Ben Andrews, who is the best Chiropractor I've had the pleasure of working with in my career.
