I've spent the entirety of my career pre-2013 in the retail
and restaurant businesses on both the West and East coasts, but did not find
fulfillment in those fields. My family
had always told me that I should go into Massage Therapy, even as a youth, and
took their advice when I'd finally had enough of retail, and haven't looked
back since! I love learning new Massage
and Healing Techniques, and being that I come from a health-minded and medical
family, have a natural inclination towards the medicinal world. Growing up as a military brat, I was able to
see the world and view many cultures, enhancing my interest in the various
forms of healing found around the globe.
I also thoroughly enjoy cooking, swimming, ice skating, working out, and
dancing. I collect rocks, stamps, and
giraffes. I am also very interested in
Astronomy, Political Science, and study the World War eras and British History;
in fact my heroine is Queen Elizabeth I.
I have also worked as a "Scent Crafter" creating an
infinite variety of products and personalized scents for the home and bath,
which introduced me to the therapeutic powers of essential oils, and how aromas
can enhance people's lives. Therefore, I
bring that knowledge into my massages, creating a complete massage that is not
only good for the body, but for the mind as well. I am constantly endeavoring to continue to
grow and expand my knowledge as a Massage Therapist, and also am interested in
the healing found in both Aroma and Sound therapies. I strive to achieve the best possible results
with my clients, and have a passion for rehabilitative and medical massage,
focusing on the root causes of each of my clients' particular problem areas.
Licensed as a Massage Therapist in 2013, I graduated Summa
Cum Laude from Centura College in Newport News, VA. I earned membership into the National
Technical Honor Society and won the Richard E. McLeod Memorial Award for High
Academic Achievement for my graduating class' Massage Therapy Department.
The last three years I have worked up in Richmond VA and have
worked just about every facet of Massage Therapy and have learned a lot! My most favorites being Sports Massage and working
hand with Physical Therapist and Chiropractors to help patents get back to
having the most healthy muscle and muscle movement possible. I was ranked number 1 in 2014 on Thump Tack and number 2 in 2015 for Best Massage Therapist in Richmond VA and I am hoping to bring that knowledge and experiance to my
clients and also to a carrier in Teaching Massage and in Research and
Development.
