In 2011, I began practicing yoga and
meditation alongside my training for long distance running and triathlons.
In addition to the wonderful stretch my body received, I was beginning to
understand more about myself. This dedication led me a 200-hour yoga
teacher training through Vidya Vinyasa Yoga (RYS200). From there, I carried on with Childlight Yoga
(RCYS), where I received a Children’s Yoga Teacher Certification.
I was introduced to Thai
Yoga through Karen Kenney and Yoga from the Heart (Laconia), where I learned just
how much the power of touch and assist in Yoga opens up one’s mind, body, and
spirit. This experience led me to expand
my training further through Still Light Centre (Toronto, ON), where I became certified
in the art of Thai Yoga
Thai Yoga is a 2500 year old dynamic bodywork therapy based upon yoga and Ayurveda practices. Practiced on the floor, while wearing comfortable clothing. In this unique experience the client is guided through a series of yoga postures while palming and thumbing along the body's energy (Sen) lines and pressure points. The result is a full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically.
The atmosphere is typical
yoga style: calm music, lots of props (pillows, blankets, etc.), use of
essential oils (if requested), soft lighting, and minimal conversation.
Postures, poses and movements can be modified for anybody.
Received my Registered Yoga Teacher Certification June 2015
