I was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. After attending college in Chicago and getting my BA in Marketing with a minor in Photography, I felt in my bones that getting a 9-5'er just wasn't for me, and my passion for photography had faded. Unsure of what life would look like no longer pursuing that 'dream', I moved to New Zealand, searching. What I found was a passion for flying my body through the air, ahhh beautiful Skydiving. Which led me on a whirlwind of adventures for the next five years, from NZ to Australia, to Wisconsin and back to Oz. A state record, and several in air accomplishments later, I once again felt a longing for something else. Something that would make a healthy impact on others lives, and on my own.
With eyes wide open, searching once again, a kismet day at the drop zone and I knew becoming a Massage Therapist was my path, at least my next step. Chiropractic care and massage therapy had been a part of my life since a young age of 12. I had suffered from migraines early on and thankfully, my family sought alternative care. Chiropractic care became my primary source of treating those migraines, with massages as an 'if I really needed it' kind of deal. It wasn't until I became a Massage Therapist and got my chops working for a very intuitive Chiropractor, that I learned the importance of addressing our muscles (and minds) in conjunction with the chiro care I was receiving. Oh, and I was in SO. MUCH. PAIN. I couldn't even walk half a mile without being in tears, my hip hurt SO BAD. How could I possibly help others feel better when I couldn't even help myself?
It was then I realized I held the power to my own feeling good. Yes, the chiropractor helps. Yes, I see other practitioners, acupuncturists and massage therapists. I was doing regular yoga, too! But it wasn't until I began assimilating what I was learning about myself, my body, from all of these wonderful healers and applying what worked for me in between sessions, that my body, and mind, began to heal.
It has become my passionate duty to share what I know to be true about self-care, about caring for one's self, so that anyone who mutually chooses to work with me has the opportunity to feeling GOOD, body + mind, any day, any time.
