Shannon Northroup is an LMT, structural integration practitioner, movement educator and forever student living and working in Hood River, OR. Shannon is a faculty member at the Northwest Center for Structural Integration (IASI approved program). With over 13 years as a bodywork practitioner, Shannon brings the experience of working in clinical, hospital, physical therapy and private practice settings. Her professional journey in the healing arts, as well as various complementary fields, have woven together to create a diverse platform to practice, teach and embody the concepts of SI.
Shannon has found structural integration to be a blueprint for holistic living. As a practitioner, she is interested in how subtle movement patterns and perception can powerfully shape structural relationships in the body. Through hands-on bodywork and movement education, individuals are able to shift long held patterning (physical and emotional) and move towards more balance and ease in their bodies, allowing for new ways of moving and a deeper experience of the world. Shannon's intention is to provide a safe and accepting environment, offering individuals the opportunity to collaborate with and deepen into relationship with their own body knowing and wisdom.
Shannon holds a certificate in Structural Integration from the Northwest Center for Structural Integration (OR), a certificate in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork from Healing Mountain Massage School (UT) and a certificate in the Heartworks Approach from Rocky Mountain Institute of Healing Arts (CO), as well as professional training as a Childbirth Educator (CAPPA) and Labor Doula (Birthing from Within). Shannon has continued her training in Advanced Myofascial Techniques, Neurokinetic Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Somatic Experiencing and Watsu.
Shannon holds a license to practice in both Oregon and Utah, is a member of the International Association of Structural Integrators (IASI), Nationally Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), and is a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP)
