Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Leo Buscaglia

Leah graduated from the Healing Arts Center in March of 2016. While she was still a student, Leah visited local massage businesses and experienced different techniques. After receiving her first Ashiatsu session from Sara at Sole Shine, she immediately fell in love with this unique modality and made it her goal to become an Ashiatsu therapist.

Despite carpal tunnel syndrome being the number one injury massage therapists endure, Leah began her career after already experiencing carpal tunnel due to her previous job.  She remained determined to begin her career in this therapeutic field of massage therapy even though she was starting compromised. She was concerned her life as an LMT would be shortened, which is why she felt ashiatsu was the perfect fit for her. Ashiatsu utilizes the body weight of the therapist relieving pressure from the hands and upper body. Another reason Leah is passionate about Ashiatsu is how deep yet relaxing the pressure is without causing pain and discomfort to the client.

Leah was introduced to holistic living when she worked at a Chiropractors office and assisted in non-surgical treatments such as decompression and laser therapy. During this time, she realized her passion for helping others with injuries and wanted to do more to help people experiencing pain.

Leah has always been a believer in natural healing. Her time at school and working as a massage therapist has only deepened her beliefs in this lifestyle. She believes that massage is a great time to wind down, live in the moment and relax. Her goal is to help people reach their maximum health – as everyone deserves to live a pain free life!

Leah was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. In her free time, she enjoys working out, being outdoors, traveling, dancing, music and watching hockey. She loves spending time with her husband and their dogs. In the winter time she competes in sled dog races up in Michigan and Minnesota.

I liked Leah a lot. I still think that requiring comments is a dubious practice.
