With over 18 years of experience, Ginny Hicks, NC LMBT #16615, Knead it or Knot’s founder, has been healing and helping the people of her community through her time-tested massage techniques. Ginny regularly attends continuing education to develop her skills, keep on top of latest effective techniques and bring home more skills for her clients. She is trained in various modalities of massage including Swedish, trigger point, orthopedic, deep tissue, Thai yoga, hot stone and Kinesiotape Method. She provides a holistic approach to pain relief, relaxation and healing touch for her clients. Every session is customized to each client’s specific goals that day.
Ginny graduated from Wisconsin Institute of Natural Wellness massage school of Racine, WI in 2002. Her first 9 years experience at a resort spa in Walworth County WI gave her a unique opportunity to work on thousands of clients from all over the world. To serve her local community, she opened her own office in 2005 and later expanded to running a wellness center serving dozens of clients every week.
Recognizing a need in her community for pain relief, she expanded her knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, dysfunction and rehab further with an associate degree in physical therapist assistant from Gateway Technical College in 2016. This extensive training offers a unique perspective within the boundaries of massage therapy for clients with ongoing chronic pain after discharge from physical therapy.
Ginny Hicks, LMBT provides a balanced massage skill set to address physical challenges of back and neck pain, repetitive use injury, sports injury, and aging clients. Her techniques are particularly beneficial for clients with “Tech Neck” (pain from postural tension from prolonged computer and cell phone use).
