Dot received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training from the College of Saint Scholastica in 2003, received a Masters of Science degree in Sports Administration from Saint Cloud State University in 2005, and a Massage Therapy diploma from Minnesota School of Business in 2008. She has athletic training experience within the high school, collegiate NCAA Division III, and clinical settings. She has been actively working as a massage therapist within the athletic training room, professional massage business, and private practice settings since 2009. In 2016, she received her certification as a Healthy Running Coach. She has taken multiple continuing education courses over the years that have helped her build her current business. Her running education comes from seminars and books taught and written by physical therapists, physicians, and exercise physiologists that are experts in the field of running athletes. She is always looking for ways to further her education in the ever changing world of sports medicine. Dot is certified through the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification, and is registered through the MN Board of Medical Practice. She is a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP) and has liability insurance as both a massage therapist and athletic trainer. She is certified in CPR/AED. Dot has a passion for running, and has ran two full marathons and a number of 1/2 marathons, along with some shorter distance races. Her favorite race to train for, and run, is the 1/2 marathon. She also enjoys Pilates, and uses these techniques frequently in her rehabilitation. She has a strong passion for caring for the injured runner, and help each runner to train and perform at their best. Dot is professional, innovative and caring, and will work hard to give each client the best treatment possible. Her special interests include running injuries, sports nutrition, exercise physiology for the endurance athlete, deep tissue, trigger point, medical and sports massage, headache and migraine massage treatments, Reiki and energy work, Aromatherapy, and integrative health care. The mission Dot has for Healthy Running Concepts, LLC is to offer an integrative approach to caring for the running athlete, or caring for anybody that is looking to improve their health and well being.
