Amy received her training from Parkland Community College in Champaign, IL and has been licensed since February 2019. She began her massage therapy practice the following month and in April 2019 joined Walk Chiropractic, Acupuncture & Massage in Mahomet, IL. Since then, she has been letting her clients be her best teachers.
Amy’s passion for the profession is founded on her belief that individuals truly have the power to heal themselves when they allow themselves to be open to that possibility and when they are willing to invest in natural, holistic practices that restore balance and order within the body and mind, as massage seeks to do. She also believes that things like age or prognoses shouldn’t hold us back from doing activities we love and the key is routine self-care.
Amy’s clients often appreciate her strength and precision when it comes to problem areas. She also makes it part of her job to listen to clients’ needs and preferences so that they leave feeling completely satisfied. She is able to adjust her pressure and technique with the client always in mind, making sure they feel safe and comfortable at all times. Generally, Amy’s massage attempts to put the body into full relaxation mode - an invitation for healing and restoration - while also working specifically on tension areas that are either caused by stress, cause stress, or both!
With a background in social work, Amy is highly experienced at working with people and meeting each individual where they are at. While supporting adults with developmental disabilities, she learned how beneficial massage can be for those with sensory input conditions and enjoys having them as clients.
Amy is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She is also a certified Hoop Dance Coach and offers play sessions and lessons to inspire creative expression and healing through movement. She is a proud mother of two and has two cats that keep her entertained. Amy finds solace in nature and music and thrives on connecting with others and touching lives.
