I received an Associates Degree in Massage Therapy from the Institute of Business and Medical Careers in Fort Collins, CO. I chose classes that had a strong emphasis in Neuromuscular Therapy and Trigger Point Therapy, and received advanced training in Neuromuscular Therapy and Trigger Point from my mentor; a Massage Therapist with over 27 years of experience. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Integrative Therapeutic Practices (alternative medicine) and Economics, with a minor in Sociology. I also received training as a personal trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Practice Philosophy:
Every Massage Therapist is different, just like every client is very different. We all respond differently to Massage and it takes a truly talented therapist to specialize in chronic pain, repetitive use injuries, and Medical Massage Therapy. Although I have the ability to pursue any career I put my mind to, I choose to stay with Massage. In the right hands Massage can be an extremely powerful tool for healing. I believe Massage deserves more credit and that therapists looking to provide specialized work should be held to a much higher standard of training, education, and practice. I enjoy working with Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, Osteopaths (DO), and other medical professionals, because I can show them just how powerful Massage can be. Many doctors and practitioners are very impressed with how much Massage is able to do, and start sending their challenging cases to me for review and assistance. I believe healthcare is a combined effort where each practitioner/doctor has their own specialty or area of expertise. My area is muscle and soft tissue manipulation for pain relief and injury recovery. There are 5 steps to proper rehabilitation; Eliminate muscle spasms, Restore range of motion, Restore proper movement patterns, Increase muscle strength, and Increase muscular endurance. If these steps are not followed recovery is slow, incomplete, and often unnoticeable. I know when my services are necessary and when to refer out, and my clients can benefit greatly by taking advantage of that.

Why I Practice Medical Massage Therapy:
Medical Massage Therapy saved my life! While I am young, I have put my body through quite a lot. As a child I was in Gymnastics. I was very competitive and preparing for the Junior Olympics. Gymnastics takes a nasty toll on your body and caused many imbalances I was unaware of at the time. I had many minor injuries and a few severe ones that still affect me from time to time. I have been in 2 car accidents both involving head injuries, and several sports accidents including a few more head injuries. I was in the Army for 4 years and suffered a rotator cuff tear during training along with many other minor repetitive use injuries. Most of my life has been on a bumpy road of minor injuries with a few major ones sprinkled in. When I got out of the military everything started to catch up to me. I suffered with chronic neck, shoulder, and back pain, frequent headaches, and numbness and tingling in my hands. The pain was unbearable, and painkillers and muscle relaxers made it very difficult to function. I was not enjoying life and desperate for some relief. Like most males with a military background, Massage wasn't something I saw as a solution, but I was desperate. I found a Massage Therapist specializing in pain management and booked an appointment. Much to my surprise, it helped... A Lot! I was actually able to function again! Relief didn't last forever though. As I learned more about pain, I realized how important it was for me to change my lifestyle and start taking care of my body. That was the start of my journey into Massage Therapy.

A Little More About Me:
I grew up in Wisconsin where I enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially on the numerous lakes I had access to. While the Midwest is beautiful, the mountains have a much bigger draw for me. Since moving to Colorado I have enjoyed many new things and couldn't be happier to live in such a great state! I am engaged to a beautiful lady and have 2 dogs at home that keep me very busy. I truly love to help people, and I'm grateful to work in a field where that is my focus each and every day. I know pain is miserable, so come see me today so I can help you get your life back!
