As a Licensed Massage Therapist and a standing member of ABMP(ASSOCIATED BODYWORK AND MASSAGE PRACTICIONERS), I have been practicing massage therapy for 10 years after attending and graduating from Chubb Institute in 2008. When I graduated from the school, my first place of employment was at Hand and Stone Spa in Broomall, PA. I had worked there for 2.5 years doing mainly Swedish, Deep Tissue, & Hot Stone Massage as well as other smaller body treatments such as Hand/Foot Scrubs, Aromatherapy, and Cold Stone Facial Massages. When I left there, I was given the opportunity to practice massage at Rehrig Chiropractic & Wellness Center in Media PA (where I still currently do the majority of my massages at). There, I do a combination of Deep Tissue, Swedish, and Trigger Point, with more of a therapy based concentration rather than relaxation. In addition to working on normal patients who just need to de-stress, relax, or relieve soreness/tension, we also work on Personal Injury, Workman's Compensation, and Auto Accident Cases. Here recently, I added the therapies of Gua Sha & Himalayan Salt Hot Stone Massage to my resume. Gua Sha is a form of "muscle scraping" that has benefits similar to "Cupping" in that it promotes blood flow to the muscles while breaking up toxins, stagnant congestion, & adhesions in those muscles to be flushed out of the body. Himalayan Salt Hot Stone Massage involves using hot stones carved out of Himalayan Salt blocks along with my hands to further and more quickly promote relaxation for the muscles. The heat and 84 naturally occurring minerals in the salt stones permeate through the skin when heated & draws out toxins, reduces inflammation, breaks up tension, & relieves pain all while also benefiting the skin and giving it a nice healthy glow.
