Kari Schmitt (she/her) is an Oregon/New York State Licensed Massage Therapist and proud graduate of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. As a native of Southern California, she earned a B.A. from California State University Dominguez Hills where her focus was on Sociology and Psychology. Kari is passionate about the therapeutic affects of massage therapy and its profound benefits on the human body and spirit. Having studied both traditional Western techniques and ancient Eastern modalities, she is able to blend a variety of approaches to healing and provide a one of a kind massage experience for every session.
Based on the client’s needs, individualized treatments are crafted by drawing upon Swedish massage, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Trauma-Informed Care, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Sports massage, Acupressure, Cupping, Gua Sha, Shiatsu, Thai bodywork, and Tui Na theory. She is also certified and specializes in Prenatal and Postpartum massage and enjoys working with folks at any stage of their pregnancy. She is a multidimensional practitioner who holds additional certifications in: Scar Tissue massage, CBD Oil on Inflammation, Massage for the Transgender Client, and Abhyanga Hot Oil massage.
Whether clients are seeking massage for pain management, rehabilitation, or relaxation, she has the knowledge, passion for healing, and skill-set to help them achieve their goals. Kari works especially well with people who are dealing with high levels of stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, grief/loss, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD.) With her fine attunement to client energy, a breadth of skills, and precise understanding of anatomy and physiology, Kari is able to treat a client’s whole being and has a special affinity for calming our often-overactive nervous systems. Her unique and customized sessions also include a brief postural analysis along with self-care suggestions for the client to take with them and incorporate into their day to day wellness routine.
