Alexis is a lifelong dancer, longtime bodyworker and enthusiastic teacher. Her current practice is located in New York where she also teaches Yoga as a guest instructor for the Bard High School Early College. She received a certification in Structural Integration with Tom Myers, Lou Benson and Larry Phipps at Myers’ flagship KMI school in Maine. She studied therapeutic massage at The Desert Institute of the Healing Arts in Arizona, and achieved a New York State License in Massage Therapy in 2003. Alexis graduated from Bard College with a BA concentration in choreography.

Alexis is an active dance artist and teacher who performs for other choreographers as well as producing her own work. Since 2008 Alexis has been developing movement curriculums emphasizing functional anatomy in a variety of private and group settings. While her classes and bodywork sessions are deeply informed by her dance practice, Alexis strives to utilize dynamic language and movement vocabularies – accessible to everyone – for depicting anatomy and evoking movement. Alexis periodically travels to Estonia where she maintains a bodywork practice and teaches contemporary dance technique and yoga as a guest artist for the Tallinn University Department of Dance.
