Kinesiology Revisited:  Structural alignment assessment and soft tissue release through the principles of movement therapy.

Somatic movement therapy is an advanced practice of utilizing the body’s innate requirement of perpetual motion toward equilibrium and homeostasis.  Somatic movement therapy is used to assess structural alignment as well as treat chronic holding patterns, emotional release, promote balance, improve inter brain communication and promote trauma release.

Integrated into Massage Therapy, movement therapy provides the tools necessary to assess whole body holding patterns that create structural misalignment, and, the mechanics of circular perpetual movement to promote release.  The principles of movement therapy have been utilized in Massage Therapy to promote myofascial release which is the foundation of deconstructing chronic holding patterns.

In addition, somatic movement therapy is an excellent self-repairing tool for Massage Therapists to manage the ongoing physical demands of performing massage therapy.

Our goal is to offer you tools to integrate into your practices as you wish and offer you the experience of receiving the treatment of somatic movement therapy.
