Heya! Jesse Mae Kohler here. I've been a licensed massage therapist in Central Oregon since 2017!
I’ve known from an early age that I wanted to go into a profession that would allow me to be of assistance to others. Toying with the idea of becoming a veterinarian all through my early childhood to wanting to go into social work as a teenager, I finally decided on massage therapy in my early twenties. Once in school, I realized that massage therapy was the best decision I could have made. From Kinesiology and pathology, to hands-on application, it was clear that my soul was truly being fed by my studies and the work I would soon be able to offer.
I'm a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. I completed my 1 year massage certificate with honors from COCC’s president Shirley Metcalf. My bodywork can best be summed up as “East meets West”. I love to meld cupping and guasha, reflexology, and Thai table massage with deep tissue, Swedish relaxation, and sports massage -- just to name a few. Currently, I'm studying to offer internal pelvic floor work with Leslie Stager, RN & LMT. I should be able to offer this work by the summer of 2025. Eventually, I would like to work with those from all walks of life that have PTSD, having survived through various traumas and abuse, as well as assisting with end-of-life/hospice using hands-on, body and energy massage work. I think that introducing positive and healthy touch to people in times of suffering and/or recovery is essential to living the rest of one’s life to the fullest.
On my days off, I prioritize my other "non-massage" passion - riding my motorcycles. I own both a 1998 Harley Sportster 1250 and a 2010 Harley Super Glide 1550. My husband and I usually plan a several week long trip once a year where we take scenic back road rides and camp every night. When I'm snowed-in I love to make art, hang out with my dogs, and watch movies.
