It's All Connected!

When I was 25 years old, I got my first massage.  That experience blew me away.  I began learning massage techniques soon after and practicing them on people in the customer service department where I worked.  One day Janeen, the supervisor on shift that day, pulled out a bottle and shook several pills into her hand.  I asked if she had a headache and if I could try to help.  After five minutes working on the sinus pressure points in the back of head, she put the pills back in the bottle, smiled, and thanked me.  I knew right away that this was for me.  It was then that I decided to go to massage school.

15 years ago, I studied Integrated Sports Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy alongside traditional Swedish techniques at ASHA School of Massage in Atlanta, Georgia.  I practiced Myofascial Release, Russian-style Medical Massage, and specialized stretching techniques for the first 8 years of my practice.  I really fashioned my own form of the techniques I was taught and practice a unique blend of my own creation.  I am currently becoming certified in two amazing gentle techniques that complement my skills, Visceral Manipulation and BioDynamic Craniosacral Therapy.

I love to geek out on the anatomy and structural parts of my work as well and tune in and deeply connect to my own intuition as well as the deep wisdom of my client's body.  It's a truly Connected experience!  Left brain meets right brain.  East meets West.  Logic meets intuition.

I work out of my home office in the Kirkwood neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia.  I live with my partner of 12 years and our 6 year old daughter.  I love to read to my daughter, ride bikes and play with her at the park.  I relish being in nature, hiking, and swimming.  I'm passionate about relieving chronic pain and educating folks about their own bodies.  In the cooler weather, I can most often be found knitting up something cozy to wear.

Massage changed my life.  Let it change yours.

My experience to Connected Body Therapy was an introductory session with Susan Powell. She asked me questions about my life and listened very closely to my answers. I felt very comfortable with Susan and her calming manner as she coached me on breathing as she assessed my overall energy. I look forward to future sessions with her. Jean Bonde
