Alison (they/them/theirs) was born a mover. Growing up in Encinitas, CA, they studied various dance styles recreationally and at a pre-professional level. In 2012, they moved to North Carolina to study at UNC School of the Arts where they received their BFA in classical ballet. After many years of navigating activity-related injuries and chronic pain, Alison chose to leave behind the competitive world of dance to pursue a career in the healing arts. Alison completed a certification in NeruoMuscular Therapy in tandem with traditional massage training at Guilford Technical Community College in 2020. Since then, they have developed a grounded practice that prioritizes each client's specific needs. They are particularly interested in working with highly sensitive bodies, individuals with complex conditions, and folks who are open to the continual learning which comes with existing in a body. Alison feels called to hold LGBTQIA+ friendly, inclusive, and accessible space through their practice. Alison sees how client comfort and healing bodywork is reliant upon providing a safe, trauma-aware environment. The energy they bring to session is a blend of masculine and feminine, a balance of exploring edges and creating openings for change while also nurturing. Their intuitive nature and confident touch allow for integrative sessions which leave clients feeling nourished, more centered, and supported in their journey.
