My Background:
I am in independent massage therapist trained at Arcata School of Massage and I employ techniques from Swedish/Spa massage, Deep Tissue Manipulation, Thai Yoga Massage, Myofascial Release, Chinese Pressure Points (acupressure), Neuromuscular Repatterning, Sports Massage (training and recovery) and countless other influences. I work out of the Isis Healing Arts in Sunny Brae (Arcata) but I am happy to travel to anyone's house so they can get treatment in whichever space they choose. Book online or call for alternate times!
My Work:
I typically work best at medium to heavy pressure, though I can use light-touch energy work techniques depending on client need. I like to tell my clients what work I think they need so they are not surprised while trying to relax. I have most of my experience treating the following:
-Feeling of being overburdened by your body (even sitting feels like too much work)
-Postural/movement issues (long term stiffness/soreness with no obvious cause)
-Post injury treatment and restoration (after the inflammation has died down)
If none of these are what you need feel free to call and ask about my skills or to get a reference, I have many friends in the massage community!
About Me:
I have given massage since I was 12 years old, helping my family with muscle pain, and it is the only work I ever want to do. I have lived in Arcata for ten years and have no plans of leaving, I love the natural beauty and the incredible variety of personalities you meet here.

ASM 650 hour program
After graduating at the Arcata school of Massage I worked as an intern there for several weeks. For nine months after that I worked as a clinic therapist while building a private practice. Most of my sessions focus on increasing a clients mobility by identifying and loosening bound tissue that restricts healthy joint movement. Medium to deep pressure Swedish Massage is typically what I use to warm tissue, followed by slow compressions mixed with joint mobilization (range of motion.) To treat certain muscles issues I will use Thai Yoga inspired stretches that show your body exactly what is stuck. I typically have to apply trigger point technique to the muscles of the neck (or anywhere else I find trigger points) which often provides a notable change to the comfort and mobility of neck and shoulder joints. I have significant experience in relaxing/spa style Swedish massage, and can focus any amount of time just achieving a feeling of total relaxation. Alternately, I can pick one or a few major problem areas and spend the entire time focusing on treating the specific pains you live with. Just tell me what you need!
