Christy builds each massage session with your needs in mind. She is
a skilled integrator, drawing from a variety of massage techniques and
styles to best accomplish your massage treatment goals whether they be
total body relaxation and stress reduction, or pain relief and
management of musculoskeletal conditions. She provides the perfect
combination of relaxation and therapeutic massage. For relief from
stress and overwork, relaxing and nurturing strokes will be used to melt
away tension. For deeper and therapeutic massage, more specific
techniques aimed at alleviating pain such as Thai massage stretches,
Tuina medical acupressure, hot stones, or cupping may also be integrated
into the massage.
Based in Anchorage, Alaska, Christy O’Brien has been a licensed massage therapist since 2016 and is an instructor at the Alaska Institute of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture & Massage Therapy. Christy’s core beliefs include the idea that human bodies are amazing, carrying us along on whatever adventures in life that we can imagine. She uses that awe at the strength and diversity of the human body as inspiration for a person-centered, holistic bodywork practice. Human touch is essential to health and happiness and can help the body heal itself. All bodies can benefit from massage. Through her work, Christy gets to interact with so many wonderful people of all shapes, sizes, genders, and abilities, and loves being able to help you and your family while doing what she loves.
