I have recently retired after 41 years as a music educator at the Elementary Public School and University levels. My life experiences have led me as a research into many methods for enhancing learning and creativity for all learners. This experience has been with children and adults singing, playing percussion instruments, creating and moving through sound.
The power of sound and vibrational frequencies have always fascinated me and now have led me into researching and working with the power of sound healing in the biofield as a Tibetan Bowl Practitioner and a Biofield Tuning Fork Researcher.
What is Biofield Tuning Energy developed by Eileen McKusick.
Biofield tunings is a type of sound healing that helps relieve mental, emotional and physical stress. It does this by introducing a coherent sound into the field and allowing the body’s nervous system to begin to relax and move from a ‘fight or flight’ response to a ‘rest and digest response.’
Our memories and traumas that we experience are not stored in our brain, like once thought, but in the field that surround our body- in chronological order- like rings on a tree. Traumas and situations that caused an emotional upheaval in your life also cause a distortion in the electromagnetic field around you. Tuning forks can easily pick up this dissonance in the field because a tuning fork creates a coherent sound, so it changes in pitch, timber and tone when it hits a discoherent spot.
Sound Healing with Tibetan Bowls
The vibrational sound of the Tibetan bowls help to reduce stress , alter consciousness as well as create a deep sense of peace, well-being and better health. The vibration of the bowl works on a fundamental level, treating the whole being (mind, body and spirit) rather than just one energy center or specific part of the body.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

According to the Upledger Institute, CST uses a touch of under 5 grams to "release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system." This light touch is said to affect the pressure and circulation of cerebrospinal fluid, which is the fluid around the brain and spinal cord. This process is thought to relieve pain and dysfunction.
