With a massage practice that spans from 2003 to the present , I am a NH and Maine licensed massage therapist, as well as nationally certified through NCBTMB. My specialty is Thai Massage. A type of Eastern bodywork that is described as assisted stretching and assisted yoga. Wearing loose comfortable clothing, it is performed on a comfortable futon on the floor. It works with the breath, and as the meridians (energy lines) in the body are stretched, the prana (energy) becomes unblocked and is allowed to flow freely. It increases flexibility and range of motion, and leaves you feeling calm and balanced.
As a yoga practitioner since the mid 90's this type of work really spoke to me. It seemed to make sense to become a certified yoga instructor as well. My passion for yoga has enhanced my massage practice extensively.
I also enjoy a sitting meditation practice, and am deeply interested in the Buddhist teachings of mindfulness, compassion and loving kindness. This, I believe, enhances all that I do in life.
