Hi!  My name is Valerie.  I have been a massage therapist since August 2009. My passion is therapeutic massage, pain relief and deep tissue modalities.

Hi!  My name is Valerie.  I have been a massage therapist since August 2009. My passion is therapeutic massage, pain relief and deep tissue modalities. 


I love helping my amazing clients get out of, and stay out of pain through maintenance. I have experience in prenatal, cupping therapy, hot stone, trigger point and myofascial massage. I have helped patients with headaches, hip and knee pain, recovery from surgery and injury, sports injuries and pain, pain from repetitive motions such as typing and computer work, and more.

My passion is therapeutic massage. Patients come to me hunched over, limping, and hurting and I love the look on their face after the massage when they are standing upright, walking normally.

Massage to me is like a connect-the-dots mystery. So often I will work with a patient to get rid of their knee pain, only to uncover a deeper pain in their low back. We discover that this pain is actually coming from their hip and once we set that right the whole body is in alignment and agreement again.

I also love the relaxation and meditation element of massage therapy. Massage allows you to become in tune with your whole body. As you relax, you can realize the tension you were holding in your hand, and the stress that was pulling your shoulder up. Massage creates an opportunity for you to feel and release tension that you may not have realized you were holding and I strive to facilitate that as much as possible.

I took a 3 day course going over the basics of cupping modalities and their uses. This course shifted my view of massage and has given me a valuable tool that I use on nearly a daily basis to help my patients get out of pain.

Beginner Reflexology Course Certification

This 2 day course gave me an initial understanding of reflexology and how important the feet are to the relaxation and therapeutic massage.

Hot Stone Certification

This online course gave me a deeper understanding of contraindications and uses of hot stone massage. I use stones in nearly every massage now - they are so amazing for relaxation and loosening muscles so I can get deeper without damage.

Table Top Thai Massage Course

This 2 day course taught me many stretches and I appreciated the information about how massage is integrated into the Thai culture and appreciated on a level that we don't understand.

Modern Cupping Certification

Certification course in Modern Therapeutic Cupping that includes more movement with cupping and targeting areas of concern.

Neuromuscular Cupping Certification

This 12 week course combined Neuromuscular Therapy and Massage Cupping to maximize my effectiveness as a therapist and give me a deeper understanding of how to treat pain patterns to help clients get out of pain and stay out of pain.

Myoskeletal Techniques for the Upper Body

Erik Dalton has created a technique that gently addresses the way that muscles affect the skeletal system and how we as therapists can address these muscles to resolve issues that go beyond muscle aches and pains.
